A little Chinese

A few weeks ago my boyfriend was on a job-related China trip. Of course he brought me many beautiful gifts. For example he bought me Chop sticks and small green Buddha figures. These beautiful Chinese accessories gave me the idea to cook a delicious Chinese meal. Firstly my boyfriend wasn’t very excited about this idea, because he was done with Chinese food. Besides the Christmas holidays with a lot of food are just over. But today I cooked a Chinese meal. I know, it isn’t really Chinese but honestly I don’t have a good recipe. Therefore I would appreciate to get real Chinese recipes!

Original Chinese Chop sticks

Ingredients:

Vegetable (you can choose your favorites)

Mie Noodles

Uncle Bens sauce

Soy sauce

Pepper/salt

This meal is very simple. You cut the vegetable into bite-size pieces and steam it for 10-15 minutes. Than you put the Uncle Bens sauce to the vegetable and season it with soy sauce, pepper and salt. Meanwhile you cook the Mie Noodles like the package label says. It tastes good, but next time I will cook a self-made sauce. I think it´s better than finished products.

By the way, I hope you had nice Christmas holidays. Tomorrow I will write a posting about my Christmas days with a lot of great food!

Winter soap

The best recipe against the grey weather outside and common cold is a hot soap. I love soaps, preferably vegetable soap with sausages. In the past my mother cooked lots of delicious vegetable soaps and since I´m responsible for myself, I never cooked a soap because I always thought it´s very difficult – but that´s the opposite. Since I tried it a few weeks ago, I often cooked soaps, because it´s very healthy, without carb and simple to do. You only need some soap greens (you can buy it as complete pack in the supermarket), frozen vegetable (I prefer peas, sprouts and cauliflower). Moreover I take some sausages called tea sausages spread because it´s important for a spicy flavor. In my mind the perfect finish, are soap noodles and parsley - it tastes very good and looks great. This well fits a roll with butter – Yummi. Here you can see the results:

What’s your favorite soap? Do you have any recipes for other soaps?

Meal made from leftovers

Do you know that? The refrigerator is empty and you haven´t got enough time or pleasure to go to supermarket. That was my problem yesterday and I think it´s a common problem of students.  So, I was a little bit creative and created a meal made from leftovers – I called it sausages gulag. Because my leftovers were sausages, two sorts of vegetable and a half pack of noodles. To my mind these products are often left. The other ingredients are products rather you have in your kitchen. But later I will tell you more. Have a look which ingredients I used for this simple and quick meal. Besides it´s simple for men, too and tastes similar to more difficult recipes.

Handy hint:
Before a view weeks I read an article about Ajvar. It´s a paste of pepper and eggplants and it’s from the Balkan. Ajvar is perfect to flavor sauces, because every meal with tomato sauce tastes better with this ingredient. Ajvar is a little bit spicy and has an orange color. So, try it for your next meal!

Ingredients:
1 onion
1 pepper
1 zucchini or other vegetables you like
2 sausages
Sieved tomatoes
Salt/pepper/bell pepper powder
Noodles
2-3 tbsp. crème légère
1-2 tbsp. Ajvar

Step 1: take onion, pepper, zucchini, sausages and cut all into bite-size pieces
Step 2: put these ingredients into a pan and steam the vegetable for circa five minutes
Step 3: put the sausages to the vegetables and steam it for 10 minutes – in this time you can cook the noodles
Step 4: put the sieved tomatoes and Ajvar in the pan and let it simmer – if you like, put some peas to the meal. It looks very nice

Step 5: Put the crème légère, pepper, salt to it and let it simmer for more 10 minutes
Step 6: Put the noodles to the sauce and infuse it for 2 minutes

Finished, it’s a perfect student meal – so if your refrigerator is empty next time, I hope you will remember this recipe.
